Letter From Our Principal
Dear Parents and students,
Welcome to Building Bridges Academy High School! It is my honor to welcome you to a school committed to Building Bridges by Reconnecting Students to Success.
Our mission is to help every student Reconnect, Refocus, and Reintegrate. We strive to reconnect students to success, refocus on academic achievement and positive behavior, and equip them with the skills necessary to successfully reintegrate into their traditional home schools.
Everything we do is built upon the Three A's:
-
Academics – Learning, growing, and earning credits toward graduation.
-
Attendance – Being present every day because success begins with showing up.
-
Attitude – Demonstrating respect, responsibility, and positive decision-making.
During our Instructional Focus sessions, students will receive targeted academic support, life-skills instruction, and mentoring from our community partners. These experiences are designed to provide the tools necessary for long-term success both inside and outside the classroom.
Our PBIS program and BRIDGE Behavior Matrix will help students learn the expectations needed to successfully cross the bridge from challenge to achievement. Every positive choice moves our students one step closer to their goals.
Parents are a vital part of our success. We are committed to strengthening our partnership through improved communication and family engagement. Please visit our school website at bbhs.sccpss.com for school information, announcements, conference requests, and upcoming events.
This year, we invite families to participate in our:
-
Quarterly Parent Nights (September 2026 and February 2027)
-
Bridge to Success Student & Parent Events (November 2026 and April 2027)
These events provide opportunities to celebrate progress, address concerns early, and work together to keep every student moving toward success.
We are also excited to introduce our Readiness Reentry Scorecard, a tool that measures each student's readiness to return to a traditional school setting. Students will be evaluated in five key areas:
-
Academic Performance
-
Attendance
-
Attitude and Behavior
-
Staff Interactions
-
Parent/Family Involvement
Our goal is not simply for students to leave Building Bridges Academy, but to leave prepared to succeed wherever their educational journey takes them.
On behalf of our entire faculty and staff, thank you for allowing us to partner with your family. Together, students, parents, staff, and community partners will build bridges to brighter futures.
Welcome to Building Bridges Academy High School!
